› Are you a sales professional looking to change or enhance your career? Listen to the voices of sales pros as they tell their career stories in their own words:
I worked my way up to the title of vice president of sales for a computer hardware, software and peripherals sales organization. I have approximately 15 years of experience in the field of technology sales.
I take great pride in the fact that my customers trust in and rely on my expertise. I also enjoy that tingle a good salesperson gets when the sale is closed. There is nothing like watching your client sign on the dotted line to close a major sale.
Vice President of Sales
I look upon sales as an opportunity to showcase my strong business acumen. Granted, I must get customers to purchase my product, but I can accomplish this without resorting to unsavory tactics.
I take a long-term approach to sales and focus my efforts towards securing multiple repeat orders, instead of just a single order predicated on misleading the customer. The sales profession is a noble one and is considered by many to be a recession proof career, and I tend to agree with that.
Regional Sales Manager
I manage an account base by meeting my clients’ current needs and also advising them of the new services that we have. Many clients aren’t aware of all that we can offer them, so I try to sell these additional services to them.
If I had to sum it up, I would say that my main goal is really to keep my clients happy so that they stay with my company and don’t look elsewhere. People think I am just selling things, but it’s more than that.
I honestly believe that I can solve most of the problems in my department better than anyone else in my position, and this gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
Sales Executive
There are many people who think that just because I work alone in a consignment store that I can sit all day and not have much to do. This is far from the truth as working alone means you have more work to do. I am responsible for organizing the racks and shelves during the day and for taking things apart if someone buys something large. However, I love my job and I love having the peace that working alone offers.
Retail Sales
I was fresh out of college with no advertising or sales training when I started at this company.
My job as a field representative was to talk to as many customers as possible about the client, which ranged from pizza restaurants to sports campaigns.
