Job Description

As a Business Systems Analyst and Data Steward focused on Analytical Tools & Process on the Sales Systems Team, you will own and lead the coordination, planning, and execution of initiatives and projects that support Workdays Sales Operations Data and Analytics Strategy.    

In this role, you will align with functional business leaders across Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, Planning, and Analytics, Field Sales Management, Sales Finance, and cross functionality with those requiring Sales Analysis to execute and represent them in the following ways to ensure scalable and efficient data, analytics, and reporting:

  • Prioritize and manage an analytics backlog by gathering reporting enhancements & analytical requests
  • Own sales business intelligence analytics projects & initiatives programmatically to ensure success criteria and timelines are met
  • Engage closely with the IT BI Analytics Team (Information Technology and Business Intelligence Team) to develop a strong partnership and embrace the hybrid operating model between Sales and IT.  The IT BI Analytics team provides both the architecture (ETL, Database Models, Visualization Tools) for self-service reporting and provides full service use case report/dashboard creation in collaboration with Sales Business Systems Analyst(s).
  • Frequently dissect business problems and provide sales operations and sales analytics management with thoughtful process or data model recommendations surrounding applications such as (please use the apply button below), C9 (Forecasting Applications), or other transaction applications housing relevant data for decision making or analytics.
  • Invest considerable time gathering and documenting detailed business requirements for analytics or data related projects
  • Engage with IT BI Analytics Team or IT Enterprise Applications Team to knowledge transfer requirements and engage closely on data model decisions, report and dashboard creation, visualizations, and security measures.
  • Own and coordinate comprehensive and hands on testing plans and end-user (UAT) feedback
  • Develop end user training materials and support initiative rollout & enablement
  • Learn internal analytics and visualization tools (as well as train others within Sales Analytics & Sales Operations) to enable and provide report and dashboard enhancement support and new analytics leveraging self-service capabilities
  • Provide frequent communication of project status and outlook
  • Develop a metric definition library and master report repository for all base sales reporting needs within (please use the apply button below), Workday, and Other Business Intelligence Tools supporting sales departments
  • Support manual system processes or tasks as needed supporting data and analytics projects
  • Receive and review reported issues related to delivered reports, dashboards, or strategic data integrity, and own them through resolution
  • Learn sales process to become a subject matter expert and data steward. 
  • Lead initiatives to enhance data integrity across key systems such as (please use the apply button below) surrounding Employee, Account, Opportunity, Quote, Contracting, Lead, and Contact data to support planning, analytics, and decision making needs.
  • Own the Sales Forecasting Tooling (currently C9) and engage in vendor management, system enhancements, forecast process improvements, and end user training.
  • Support annual and ongoing Sales Headcount Management using workdays headcount planning capabilities engaging with Sales Strategy, Sales Management, HR, Finance, and department managers on establishing headcount plans and changes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Passionate about delivering data, analytics, or tools, that enable insightful and strategic decision making
  • Team player not afraid to take on a challenge, complex problems, or learn new topics or logic
  • Experience in a High-Technology, High-Growth, or High Paced environment or organization preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a business intelligence or reporting analyst capacity.
  • 3 to 5 years of functional or technical experience with advanced analytics applications such as Tableau with the ability to learn new applications such as Workday Analytical Tools.  Including experience doing hands on report creation, dashboard creation, and engaging visualizations.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience leveraging (please use the apply button below) or similar applications in a system analyst capacity required
  • Experience with sales forecasting applications and advanced deal/pipeline or forecast reporting preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • A proven track record leading small to medium sized projects and initiatives from requirements to go-live
  • Prior experience working with a variety of Sales Operations, Analytics, or Business Development functions.
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills required (must be able to present recommendations, demo new deliverables, and create training materials)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience with (please use the apply button below) Reports, Dashboards, and Sales Forecasting required
  • Experience working with Order Management, Renewals, Sales Management, Finance, Legal teams in Enterprise B2B markets a plus
  • Experience with data loaders, API tools, or system administrator experience a plus
  • Experience with Sales Enablement or Sales Effectiveness Tools and Applications a plus
  • Highly self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills

In addition to the above responsibilities focused on analytical systems, you will be supported by and support others on the Sales Systems team based on strategic priorities ranging from Operational Systems to Sales Enabling Systems to Administrative Process to Planning & Analytical Capabilities.  The Sales Systems Team is focused on developing dedicated analysts in these areas but will continue to work collectively to scale and support the success of each other and the collective team deliverables.
