Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Brand Communications Director, the Content Coordinator shares the story of Tennessee Tech via written stories, social media content and branded university messages.

Essential Functions: Promotes a positive image, both internally and externally, of the university through the organization and creation written stories, content for a variety of publications, social media posts, campus features and other branded content opportunities as needed. Serves as the primary social media account manager for the university’s main social media accounts and online brand presence, Sprout Social, providing regular reports on the effectiveness of university social media. Edits and proofreads branded pieces. Initiates and coordinates routine contact with campus departments to help to identify and promote university brand messages across platforms. Collaborates with a team of students to execute content. Manages a variety of other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Two years relevant experience. Knowledge of AP style guidelines. Working knowledge of various office software, such as Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work under deadlines and on multiple projects at the same time. Strong writing and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Writing experience that has been published online, in publications, in news releases, etc. Working knowledge of Internet/web tools. Experience in managing and maintaining professional/branded social media accounts. Photo and video shooting and editing skills. Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Work Hours: Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 pm. May include after hours or weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD42.
