Job Description and Critical Results

The Sales Enablement Development function provides sales professionals with the right knowledge and skills from creating sales opportunities, to execution and driving revenue.  The primary responsibility of the Sales Enablement Manager is to lead a team to develop and implement best-in-class sales readiness and development programs for the organization.  An understanding of professional selling and operational best practices are keys to success in this role.  The ideal candidate will take an insightful, consultative and strategic approach to sales professional development to empower the ingredient that we truly believe is at the center of Workday's success - our amazing people.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish overall strategy by determining development requirements; studying sales and marketing strategic plans and current sales results; conferring with sales executives; reviewing coaching results; evaluating current program effectiveness; develops and executes plans.
  • Leads a team of sales enablement directors to increase effectiveness of the sales force by executing a strategic plan for developing and executing sales training programs and initiatives to maximize the sales team's revenue potential.
  • Meets sales enablement objectives by forecasting sales development requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and leading teams.
  • Engage potential third party vendors, requirements, needs, contracts and budgets as needed.
  • Develop assessment strategies and measure effectiveness of training programs. Develop reports and comprehensive programs analyses. Identifies needs and implement improvements.
  • Execute and implement communication campaigns for program initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Workday Learning systems team on lesson development, configuration and new feature adoption.

  • Demonstrates expertise in education development, content creation, certification programs, adult learning, coaching and management development. 
  • Works together with Sales Management to design and develop sales development programs agendas, curricula, content and materials used in training.  Provides solutions for delivering high-impact multimodal sales training innovations:
    • Ability to understand the changing needs of the sales environment, buyer journey and market demands to enable our sellers to better compete by leveraging insights which include economics, competition, trends and drivers. 
    • Has strong knowledge of the organization's sales methodology, products, services and sales techniques.
    • Advanced sales development: responsible for developing and implementing initiatives for tenured sales personnel and field sales managers.
    • Product and persona initiatives: responsible for working with Sales, Marketing and Product Management in development of training programs for new product launches.
  • Detailed project management skills and the ability to work independently; lead team and support staff is required.
  • A minimum of five plus (7) years professional development experience, field sales training, sales methodology development, leadership and people management with demonstrated results is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Development or similar disciplines.
